Ilocos Norte : Overnight stay @ Pannzian Beach Resort

We passed on the chance of checking out the northern destinations nor walk around the city of Laoag. Embracing the travel slowly mantra ( or again, maybe because we're getting older?), we booked a room in the cozy Pannzian Beach Resort in Pagudpud, about 40 minutes from the popular beach strip.

The resort is situated just a few meters right after Patapat Bridge. We took an ordinary bus to Claveria, Cagayan, stood through the winding roads of Pagudpud with chickens, brooms and yes, a nice yummy-looking squash in tow, and finally arrived our destination with much ardor.

Squash, boots and everything nice :)

Ilocos Norte : Head Over Heels for Cape Bojeador

We had a sumptous meal of Pinakbet and pugita (baby octapus) for lunch. I was hesitant at first pero go na. It tasted like the regular adobong pusit but the meat was a little bit rubbery. And of course, the Pinakbet was superb that we ordered another serving.

Ilocos Norte : The Towering Bangui Windmills

Approximately 15 minutes from Pagudpud, the overpowering beauty of the Bangui Windmills can be seen from the main highway.

Ilocos Norte :The Kapurpurawan Rock Formation

Kapurpurwan came from the word "furaw" or "puraw" which means white. On our way to the site, we had to endure a 15 minute bumpy ride and a 10 minute walk from the main drop off point.

Ilocos Norte : Meeting Kuya Arnel

Our 2pm flight to Manila after having a grand time in Palaui Island in Cagayan was canceled. With tons of work waiting back home,we were left with only one option : to endure a 12 hour bus trip to Manila.

While texting my boss. Lagot nanaman kami. Had to ask for a letter from CebuPac as proof.

Rather than missing work,we took the 3 pm regular AC bus to Manila. Ugh. 4 hours late for work. Not good. But on the brighter side( and to compensate), the airline graciously gave a free one-way trip to any local destination and should be used within 30 days. With the interval between our Malapascua and Calaguas trip, I had to decide where to go. With a free ticket at hand, it was not easy (I wanted to go to Zamboanga and visit the Pink Beach! Kakarating palang, may plano nanaman) .But after thorough deliberation (LOL) ,we came up with the decision to take the bus to Pagudpud then use the free plane ticket back to Manila. ;)
