Ilocos Norte : Meeting Kuya Arnel

Our 2pm flight to Manila after having a grand time in Palaui Island in Cagayan was canceled. With tons of work waiting back home,we were left with only one option : to endure a 12 hour bus trip to Manila.

While texting my boss. Lagot nanaman kami. Had to ask for a letter from CebuPac as proof.

Rather than missing work,we took the 3 pm regular AC bus to Manila. Ugh. 4 hours late for work. Not good. But on the brighter side( and to compensate), the airline graciously gave a free one-way trip to any local destination and should be used within 30 days. With the interval between our Malapascua and Calaguas trip, I had to decide where to go. With a free ticket at hand, it was not easy (I wanted to go to Zamboanga and visit the Pink Beach! Kakarating palang, may plano nanaman) .But after thorough deliberation (LOL) ,we came up with the decision to take the bus to Pagudpud then use the free plane ticket back to Manila. ;)
The overnight direct trip to Pagudpud was a breeze. What's nice about Florida Bus Lines is that their buses have built in toilets, which means less stop overs. Upon reaching the famous Pagudpud landmark,we rode a tricycle that cruised along the foggy highway passing through the beautiful rice plantations and through the quiet town of Pagudpud with the locals still about to start their day. Too tired from our long trip,we were in deep slumber in our small rented room after making reservations with Kuya Arnel. Tour was scheduled at 10 a.m.

First glimpse :)

One has to choose between Northern Tour (Kabigan Falls, Patapat Viaduct, Agua Grande, Timmangtang Rock, Bantay-Abot Cave,Blu Lagoon and Maira-ira Beach) and Southern Tour (Bangui Windmills,Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation ) when visiting the tourist spots in Pagudpud.Or if time permits and if within budget, then one can do both.

When I woke up, it was almost 11:30am! I had to rush outside to check if he's still there waiting! I could've hit the snooze button a gazillion times! Ugh!Masaya lng. The caretaker told me that Kuya Arnel waited for an hour and would be back around 12-12:30. Sobrang nahiya naman ako. Ayoko maging paspecial. I knew that he had other customers (who haven't confirmed yet) pa.

Kuya Arnel arrived a little after 12 noon with a smile on his face.

"Kuya pasensya na ha. Sobrang pagod lang talaga." "Tinawag ko po kayo Mam pero tulog po kayo e." "E kuya sana po kinatok nyo po kami para nagising kami." "E mam nakakahiya po. Parang ang sarap kasi ng tulog ni sir e.Maaga pa naman po.Mapupuntahan po natin lahat un."

So you're the culprit (raises eyebrow) kaya nahiya si Kuya Arnel. :)) Little things that make me smile. With how he answered and how positive he was, I knew it will be a great day.Now off to Bangui Windfarm.

Meet Kuya Arnel :))
